In many Indian homes, a meal isn't complete until the mukhwas bowl comes out. These colourful mixes of seeds, spices and fruits have been a part of the after-meal ritual for generations – to freshen the breath and round off a good meal.
Types of mukhwas
Seed and saunf mukhwas
The classic. Fennel (saunf) and other seeds, sometimes sweetened with jaggery. Try Gud Saunf or the crunchy, protein-rich Seeds Mukhwas made with roasted pumpkin, flax and watermelon seeds.
Paan mukhwas
All the aroma of a meetha paan, without the leaf. Paan Jaipuri is made from real betel leaves, cardamom and menthol, while Paan Basanti brings the classic meetha paan flavour.
Tangy digestives
Khatta-meetha goli that people have loved for generations: Anardana Goli with pomegranate and spices, Kishmish Anardana, and the bold Hing Peda.
Amla mukhwas
Indian gooseberry in sweet and tangy forms – Amla Candy coated with sugar and cardamom, and Amla Pachak with ajwain and black salt.
Candies for kids
Imli Candy, Mango Slice and Fruit Candy are childhood favourites that make any meal end on a sweet note.
